Places I have been in: Australia Cairns The highlight of Cairns was definitely scuba diving the great barrier reef... well, and the lovely english girl I met there. This was a great party town with loads to do and many people to meet and socialize with at night. I had a damn good time here. gulligan’s was also an awesome hostel. Darwin Darwin is in the middle of nowhere. It is Very small town with... well, what does Darwin have? The highlight of this trip was a side trip to the nearby Tiwi Islands... well, that and the Italian girl who cooked me the greatest pasta meal I have ever eaten. I also rented a small motorbike and got to see the town much better that way but there really wasn’t so much to see. Another awesome hostel though here. We stayed at Melelucca on Mitchell and everything about this place was fantastic. Great pools - yes plural - great environment and great staff. Melbourne From the moment I stepped foot in this place it became one of my absolute favorite cities in the world! The only place I would like to live in as much as this place is Munich. Melbourne is a very classy, culture filled city that has everything you could want in a place. It is warm, it is compact and easily traversed, it is wonderfully beautiful with beautiful people and it has an outstanding nightlife. There is too much live music to choose from! They also have a slew of word of mouth only hidden bars with St. Jerome’s being my favorite one by far. I cannot even list all the highlights from this city. Maybe it was the man who chased three guys around a parking lot with a samurai sword (no kidding). Maybe it was the super chill times I had at St. Jerome’s. Maybe it was the great BBQ pork i had at some restaurant in chinatown. Maybe it was that italian girl cooking me another great pasta meal. Perth Check out my video inspired by my trip to Perth This is the most isolated city in the world (I think). This city had some amazingly gorgeous women! One night at dinner, the table next to me had twelve drop dead beautiful women all at the same table. They were all over the place. Maybe it is something in the water. Great beaches, and cool people. I did not spend much time inside the city though as the highlight of this trip was a four hour or so road trip to Margaret River where we slept in a camper under the stars on the edge of the indian ocean. When I woke up, I went fishing with an aboriginal man and we caught and immediately ate the best salmon I have ever had. amazing day! We also took a plane to Ningaloo Reef where we swam with a whale shark! A friggin’ whale shark! It was like swimming with a dinosaur. Sydney I stayed in kings cross which is the red light district. That definitely added lots of character to my trip :) Sydney was a very cool city but too spread out for my taste. Maybe if I lived there and knew it better. I did, however, leave a piece of my heart in Sydney. I loved the place. Cool backpacking culture there as well. I spent a lot of time on the roof of the D.Lux Budget Hotel (it’s a hostel) meeting lots of cool people, drinking many boxes of wine (the cheapest alcohol you’ll find is in a box) and enjoying the view.
